We think that the stain on one of the hotels bedroom carpets in a shower gel stain, it is pink. we have tried applying extractor chemicals to the carpets and then using a carpet cleaning machine, but it is not much better than it was, the colour has neutralised slightly but it is still there! any suggestions what to use?

Were there any children in the room? If so, it could be calpol - I have a pink calpol stain on my bedroom carpet - that's what I get for trying to measure out a portion in the dark! - I have tried everything to get it off with no avail. Make syou wonder what it does to their tummies.

No, not any children - there was a group on french rugby players...maybe they had calpol?? It was foaming up whenever I vaccumed/scrubbed the carpet so must have been some kind of soapy liquid that had bleach or something! thanks for your response.
That's a shame, I was hoping that whatever turned out to be the solution to your problem would help mine!

Might sound a bit weird, but have you tried bath soap? This always neutralises those types of bubbles - ever taken a bar of soap into a bath filled with bubble bath bubbles - they go as soon as the soap gets in the water - once you get rid of the foaming, it might be easier to flush out the stain - what about bicarbonate of soda?
Question Author
yes that might work, dont want the soap to stain the carpet further or react with the pile...soda sounds interesting, might give that a try and let you know!
