i have noticed that the fan in my fridge freezer has stopped. Im not sure if this is having any effect on the running of it. Has anyone repaired one, to make matters worse it is only just out of warranty!

The small electric motor that is attached to the fan can usually be replaced quite easily. I'd get the make and model and see if the dealer has one in stock before removing the existing one. they shouldn't be very expensive. I replaced one about 5 years ago here in the U.S. and the motor cost about $25 USD.
You do need to make sure that it's not the circuitry that turns the fan on and off though. That usually takes a service call...
