Where you left them.
Question Author
only one star for j2, and could you all imagine claxons going off as when alan answers a question on QI too please, obvious answer. the problem is that they are not where i left them, they are where the other half left them.
One thing's for sure, Treacle, and that is that they'll be in the very last place you think of looking! (Boom! Boom!)
They'll be in the last place you look, so why don't you just think where the last place you'll look will be and go there first....can I have the klaxons as well please?
Question Author
lmao, its klaxons all round so far :-D ty all for playing, keep going
They are bound to be in her coat pocket or on the dressing table in the bedroom, thats where my husband normally finds ours. Good luck, how are you at walking???!! ;)
Question Author
very good doris, but unfortunately i am the female half of this operation, i need to know where a man would leave them. as for how good i am at walking, well i wouldnt be sat here on my arse waiting for the borg to answer if where i have to go was in walking distance ( or urgent). :-)
walk into your living room. apologise to the house pixie (invisible). Leave a sweet under the cushion on the chair. then look again. seriuosly this works. according to a russion freind who also had domovoi trouble
Dowse for them! Take a pendulum, visualise your keys and walk around the house - when it starts swaying you should find them! Nothing to lose!
Are they on the table in the Hall ?

update... sweetie under cushion not worked yet, now trying dowsing. klaxons for astraz and ignorantblis has given me giggles coz my dad does that all the time. i have contacted the other half and he swears he put them in my handbag, i have emptied all six handbags onto living room floor and they're not there....
Question Author
nykkieberry, how much do yo know about dowsing? i'm assuming that the straightened out coat hangers are ok to use, i didnt get the pendulum bit but i have found they spare keys to a car i briefly owned 5 years ago, however, when i try to narrow my question down to these specific keys, the coathangers point in different directions, almost like they're shrugging their shoulders, is this normal?
Are they in the fridge, biscuit tin, down the side of a chair, under the chair, in the dog's basket, in the dog, in the pram, in the bathroom, by the computer, dropped in a shoe/boot, in his pocket, in his toolbox, by the tv/stereo? If not I give up.
Question Author
my daughter has just phoned from school to ask what my car keys are doing in her school bag. no wonder the dowsing rods gave up. i am now WALKING to collect my keys and then i'm going to ikea to get other half something to keep him busy.... then i'm going to hide his keys till he's finished it. thankyou all so much for the ideas, i will be placating house pixies and dowsing next time i lose them too :-D
Bit late I know but what always works for us, is either ask a friendly relative who's died for some help [hasn't failed yet in 10+years] - remember to say thanks when you've found/been led to it. Or stop looking altogether and within a few mins of doing something else you'll find them - let me know if it fails, I set daughter's G-grandad on the case!! Nice to see you back
Question Author
:-) an answer from one of my favourite answerbankers, ty paulz, it's nice to be back, car keys go missing quite regularly, it's cheered us up no end to replace "have you tried down the back of the sofa?" with "have you tried dowsing" and now " have you asked uncle vic?", i did miss you lot :-)
