please help, why is my parlour palm drooping? i dont know if its due to too much watering or not enough. i think its a parlour palm, ive had it years. its about 3ft tall, 2 stems that look a bit like palm trees. both stems have now bent over as if they have weakened and lots of leaves have been falling off. its just the ones at the top left where the leaves are the brightest green. ive taped them up at the minute with a splint and put it near a radiator so it dries out?? any ideas most welcome asap. i must have had this plant since 1993.

Hi bubbles,
It does sound like it's been over-watered, this is easily done with Parlor palms, they need very little during winter and hate cold and wet conditions, which can rot the roots if your not careful.

Place the plant in a warmer location to allow it to dry out before you start to water again. Too close to the radiator may be a bit harsh, it needs to dry out gradually.

Ideal winter tempreture should be a minimum of 55f (13c)
Summer 60f (18c) max.
Watering 2-3 times a week in summer and once a week in winter but very little!
Feed once a fortnight.
Never use leafshine.
Cut off any dead leaves. Hope you can save it. Tbird+
