My washing machine is a few years old and I use it regularly, and always leave the door open for air to circulate in the drum.. Why does my washine machine now smell musty inside? I have drained foul water out of the lint drain thing a couple of times so it can't be that.... Any tips? My washing still smells fine and is clean, but I don't like the drum smelling so bad. Is the machine on its way out? Any advice appreciated.

Put some washing soda in the draw and then put it on the hottest wash cycle. When that's done do it again only this time tip a bottle of white vinegar into the drum. This will clear any scum in the system which may be causing the smell.
Do you wipe the door seal dry as water collects there also this will save the seal from splitting.
Is the smell coming from your sink U-bend,I assume this is where the rinsing outlet tube is fitted onto, also does your grey tube rise higher than the connection because dirty waste-water from the sink can drain back into the washing machine and get into the drum and lie there and smell.
