Advice on repotting a banana plant

I have a banana plant, that I keep indoors for most of the year as it is in a pot. Howerver, it is getting much too large for it's present pot and needs repotting, what type of soil/compost do I need to use, and can I remove the several small plants growing at the base and pot them up individually?

90 foot rubber plant - I can't give it away!

Hi Flower, Bananas need a soil based compost. Keep moist at all times and around 60 degrees. When repotting remove offshoots and pot up individually. cheers skylight. ps have you had any bananas yet?

Do I take it that an ordinary - non peat - compost might be OK?
As for the bananas - only in my mental state! LOL
