Hi Babs, about a week if you wrap them in paper, any longer and you are pushing it a bit they will start to go off, too many beans is a problem this time of year I find.

not moaning mind. you cant beat fresh veg, seen a lady pay 2.24 a kilo for some in sainsburys this morning, gosh i thought made me think how lucky i am to have such green fingers.
have you, or do you anyone with a freezer? i cut them to size first ,blanch them for 3 mins, then leave them to cool for a couple of mins, pop them in a freezer bag & they keep for months. :-)
The lady next door cuts them to size, puts them on a tray in the freezer without blanching, then bags them when frozen. She swears by this method, so we are trying it this year. Have 14 bags already.
must admit briwrite, have done this myself when in a hurry, and haven't noticed any difference in taste so suppose its up to the individual :-)
