Removing stickers or transfers from a boat

Hello


Repainting my GRP boat. It has the manufacturers logos and stickers on it. What is the best method of removing these?

I would use a hairdryer,it work really well on cars,just warm up the stickers and peel them off slowly

do you know anyone in road haulage or sign writers as they have machine that will do the job and don't worry about the sixe of the machine as it is portable it's the size of a hair drier but more effiecent


If it is self coloured GRP and not painted then a hot air paint stripper is quicker and more effective, the stickers will curl up and fall off !
I work with vinyl graphics - just use a hairdryer. Don't heat it up too much though, a few seconds is enough, otherwise it just stretches. You just want to melt the glue. You''l have to clean the area afterwards too - some meths should do the trick - to remove any residue from the glue
