what is the easiest way to strip artex off walls.i have purchased my council house and before i moved in the previos tenant decided to artex every wall in the house {very badly} in some places it is very,very thick what is the best way to remove without damaging the plaster underneath? i have just paid a plasterer to plaster over the bathroom at a cost of �300 is there a cheaper way to do this as there is still 5 rooms and 2 hallways,and stair landings to do??

No ... sorry there is no easier or cheaper way. I don't know how long ago your house was built but old Artex (pre 1972) contained asbestos. See question 22145
Sorry I meant to say how long ago it was Artexed not how long ago it was built.
