fish pond

ive got a pond in the garden last year someone gave me a plant for the pond anyway after putting this plant in the pond a kind of whitey kinda film (best way i can describe it)appeared on the surface of the water then all the fish died anyway what i was wondering was can i now buy some new fish to go back into the pond the murkey stuff has all disapeered or would i have to change or treat the water in the pool b4 adding any fish i would change the water but as there are loads of frogs n frog spawn i cant really do that right now so will i have to wait or will it b ok to get some new fish. thanks in advance

Whatever that white film was, it looks like it might be okay now to reintroduce some fish, once the tadpoles have developed. Frogs can breath through their skin under water, which would seem a good indication that the problem has gone. I' d "test the water" with a couple of cheap goldfish for starters. Good Luck.
