It's only our second year (and last year was a bit rushed) what should we be preparing or planting around now? Just done some horseradish & weeding today (1st visit since winter came) Any tips greatly appreciated.

Wait until the frost has gone (end of feb hopefully but you can never be certain) then stick in some early spuds. They'll be on the small side but very tasty.

I Fully agree with Exrayspecs, potato's are one of the best crops to grow on a new site, they will actually help condition the soil breaking it down to a fine tilth and also suppressing weeds.

You could grow early and late varieties, so that you have a succesion and plant other crops, ie peas, beans, carrots, as they finnish.
