Hi ABers out there ...

our central heating boiler packed up over the weekend, but thankfully, a new zone valve has got it working again, so we're nice and warm again! But our current boiler is around 15 years old, so we got to thinking of replacing it in a few years time.  Does anyone know when we will be obliged to install heat pumps instead of the old type boilers, please? Thanks in advance, cheers, Chox.

No idea about heat pumps but glad we had British Gas replace our old boiler a couple of months ago. A new Vailance boiler has made a world of difference to us.

Nobody knows what laws will be in place in a few years time.  As it currently stands the majority of new build domestic properties will not be able to install gas central heating from 2025 - that will not affect homes that already have gas central heating.

So unless the law changes you will be able to replace your boiler with another boiler in a few years time.

Many thanks folks, really useful.  I had forgotten that heat pumps are going to be mandatory in new builds only.  Cheers everyone.  Appreciate your help, Chox.
