We have a small fibre optic Christmas tree which we've used for several years, but it has decided not to work this year. I've replaced the bulb in it, but the spindle that rotates the light disc doesn't seem to be working. Is there anything I can do, or is it dead? Thanks for any help.

I don't know much about fibre-optic trees so I'm assuming the spindle rotates using rising air due to heat from the bulb. You haven't replaced a conventional bulb with a LED bulb, have you? Does the bulb light?

No, I've replaced the bulb with the same as it had in it. And yes, the bulb does light, just the spindle with the light disc doesn't rotate.
Can you get to the spindle to give it a start? Even better, can you get it off and give it a good clean?
Try giving it a spray with WD40 (other electrical lubricative products are available).

I'll try unscrewing the little motor and see what's inside. Will come back soon!

Have investigated the little motor and it is a sealed unit. Cannot get into it so WD40 wouldnt work either. I think that it will have to pretend to be an ordinary Christmas tree this year! Thank you for your suggestions and Merry Christmas to you!
