Wolf, funny you should mention nuns. a South Korean nun on the same flight from Dublin asked if I knew the way to the 'starting point'. I did and another two older Irishmen tagged along. So I started my Camino with a triple good turn.
Thank you all for the good wishes.
Psybbo, I wish it was. The start is very steep but there are lots of hills yet to come. I lied About the 8 hours.it was nearer 9. Still, the only one hour worse than my best time some years ago and a whopping 5 hours better than the time I walked with a bad back.
Tilly2, not a sign. First indication of one I'll put loads of Vaseline on the feet.
I managed to avoid the two pious Irishmen and the Korean nun during the day. They'll all be n this small town somewhere. I'd guess they'd be at evening Mass later but as I'm giving that a miss it's unlikely we'll meet again.
