We have just come home from playing badminton and , after not playing for three weeks, we found it really hard work.

I can't believe how unfit I feel. I suppose one has to work harder at staying fit, as one becomes older.
My knees are going to ache tomorrow!

Yep, your gonna ache in the morning.
'Tis a bit more difficult now, Tilly......I found it so after that long time I couldn't walk.
But little and often soon gets you back on form. I did a long birding walk on Monday and felt really good the next day......a couple of years ago I'd have needed a day or two to recover....x

Well said, Gness. I thought I was as fit as a fiddle but I am obviously only as fit as a fiddle that's played every day.

Yont, I ache now. Tomorrow will be worse.
Just a little light music on the fiddle to start, Tilly....then work up to Flight of the Bumblebee......x
Nice hot bath for you, Tilly, I thought I'd already posted on this
More like the Devil Went Down To Georgia, gness.
There's many a good tune played on an old fiddle......
Voice of experience, Melv?.... ;-)

Sibs, a hot bath sounds lovely but think of all that wasted, expensive water water. I haven't had a bath at home for at least four years. (When I'm on holiday, I have a bath every day)

I'll risk a shower.

Anyhow, it'll be better next week. I'll slay 'em! Lost three two today. :-(

Melv, I didn't say'old'. I said,'older'.
Lots of old fiddles on 'ere, gness:-)
I'm going to soak in a long hot bath tonight, Tilly.....my water bill has just been reduced.........either I'm mucky or the meter is wrong....x
Oh I know, Melv......☺
Older fiddles take longer to tune, tilly;-)
Question Author
......again, the voice of experience!
I'd better not mention G string;-)
Why not, melv ;-)
Oh go on, Melv...air it....you know you want to......x
Question Author
Playing badminton, with a G string, would be very uncomfortable. I would have to keep shuttleing!
Nice hot and fragrant bath will do your bones the power of good, Tilly :-) xx

We're getting older, as on Monday I played squash at David Lloyd's....used to be able to play for an hour or more.....45 mins and I was totally k- nackered.

Big 5...0 next year so I'll get me pipe and slippers out ( As I dont smoke, I'll make it a Magnum ice cream instead )
