Is it expensive to have new rendering on our 1930s detached bungalow. It currently has a painted kind of dash on it. Any idea of a quote.

If I were you, Neenee I would get 3 or 4 quotes from different companies and see what sort of figures they come up with.

Depends on the size of your bungalow I should think, Neenee.
Lots of questions, Nees ............

Detached?
Gable ends? (Extra scaffolding cost)
Chimneys?
Good access for a delivery truck?
Size of building?

For a 30's bungalow, I would seriously consider wrapping the whole exterior with insulation, and rendering over that. Instant cosiness inside, and greatly reduced fuel bills.

It would cost more, of course, but at least it wouldn't be necessary to knock off all the existing render and dispose of it. That's always quite a major cost factor.
