If all else fails (and I am sure someone else will post something miraculous) you might have to trim the fibres with sharp scissors as little as possible but just enough to get the burn colour out.   Its not ideal but at least it won't be a different colour.

Claim on your insurance.
Or if you have a bit of the carpet left over somewhere ,an offcut, you could ...carefully ,cut out the burned bit and plug it with a new piece.

When we were in the army a well known trick to cover cigarette burns etc, was to completely shave the burn to the base of the carpet, then go around the edge of the fitted carpet and cur away small amounts of  pile. Then put some good glue into the base and fill with the pile you have cut.Stamp it down, You then hope that the eagle eyed officer who checked the quarter for damages didn't notice. I got away with it each time I did it.Other wives for bigger patches used to shave pile off from unseen areas of carpet, but most of the march out men would move the furniture to check!
