I’m looking for a new pre-formed replacement liner for one of my garden ponds, but prices appear to vary considerably and I’ve no idea of the differences in materials. I want one about 2mtrs x 1.5mtrs, or thereabouts, but I have no idea which are good quality and which are not. Any advice and recommendations very welcome. Thank you.

Naomi - do you really need to go for a pre-formed liner? I started out with one but didn't really like it. Have now gone for one of the 'rubber' types - guaranteed for 40 years and much cheaper than the pre-formed ones.

If you must definitely go for a pre-formed then Fibre Glass is best. If you've already got the hole already there, why not go for a rubber Pondliner.

I have a rubber pondliner in my garden which is which is roughly 6 x 3mtrs with a marginal shelf at one end. Despite accidentally dropping things in it (including a somewhat large terracotta pot) over the years it shows no signs of failing. Its been in for about 20yrs now.

Thanks all. We have rubber liners in the other ponds, but one of our dogs likes paddling in this particular pond - I don't know why just this one - and he's gone through a number of liners. I thought we'd try something solid this time.

Alice, I'll take a look at fibreglass. Thank you.
