Mushrooms On Lawn

All of a sudden a load of mushrooms have appeared on my lawn. Could anyone tell me how to get rid of them/stop them re appearing?

I think it probably means the grass has become too mossy,damp and shaded,and so created an ideal area for fungus to grow.If this is the case,you would need to bring more light into the area,and rake it clear,before adding some more seed.

My guess is that you've had lots of rain lately... mushrooms usually only grow in the presence of  rotted wood or other subsurface organic material.  They are quite difficult to entirely eradicate and most likely you'll find they disappear once the ground has dried out.  There are some chemicals that are advertised to help, but generally, they aren't very effective.  The mushrooms really dont hurt anything and mowing the grass gets rid of them short term...
you could try winter tree wash, i had this problem and spoke to a garden centre who recommended it .use as instructions on box     steve  /4/7/2005
