My bath tap has a shower attachment - an all in one unit.
As it next to the toilet I use the shower attachment when I am cleaning the toilet - it has a powerful spray, far more effective than the flush.

I have been told I shouldn't do this because of 'back flow' or 'back draught' or something that can adversely affect my shower/tap.

Is this true?

As long as the shower head is not immersed in the toilet bowl there can be no back-flow of water from the toilet into the water system. Carry on, but don't drop the shower head into the toilet.
