Don't ask, don't get.
16 quid TWR, haven't seen that one yet.
none from me,not after that time when those con men did the Sally Army out of 5 miilion !!!! luckily they later gave most of it oavoid a jail sentence.
Mine goes to shar pei rescue as they do a marvellous job solely on the kidness of others.
they own most of wigan town centre, maybe they should flog some of that instead
I haven't given any money this festive season but bought some dog food for the local rescue shelter and left it at the collection point in the foyer of Morrisons.
That's less than the contribution sought for Christmas donations by the homeless charity, Crisis. They were asking for £19.

I suppose that somebody will have done the sums. For example, if the SA asked for £8, instead of £16, they'd need twice as many donors to get the same amount. As long as they don't lose more than 50% of '£8 donors' by asking them to become '£16 donors', they're in profit.
Where would you go if you fell on hard times, TWR? I was behind a bloke in the newsagents the other day who thought nothing of handing over £40 for the lottery!
What do they own in Wigan dot ?.
What's wrong with someone spending £40 on the lottery?

Cupid, I Will Help Anyone!! but I think that is a cheek, how do you think the very senior feel when charities ask for that sort of donation? they are usually the first to give, It's just started Tony, I have relatives in OZ that are well into the Sally Army Cupid, they could tell you a tale or two.
Ah righto TWR, I'll keep my eye out for it.
They were asking for £19 on my TV.
My friend phoned up to make the £19 donation and was told it's now £23, she was so taken aback that she gave it to them but wished she hadn't afterwards.
I haven't seen that advert but the charity adverts I have seen have been quantifying the difference a donation will make. They are not refusing lower donations just showing what £3.00 or £16.00 can do.

I don't know about you Purple, but when these sort of ads come up the MUTE button get pressed, one is about the rainforest, I do not take the wood out of the rainforest, I've never been to the rainforest, whoever takes the wood out of the rainforest, let them re-plant the trees.
The latest thing round our way is to tell everyone you're not sending Christmas cards this year and donate the money to charity instead.

I normaly buy a pack of 30 for a couple of pounds so that wouldn't change the world for a charity ;)

I only give to the charities I have a link with so tv adverts or touts don't bother me. In fact there was one for the RSPCA in town asking for money and I just said if they can waste over £300,000 on prosecuting two old men for Fox hunting then they have more money than they need and should use that instead.
I havent noticed any ads asking for money for the RSPCA recently though, not that I would ever give them anything, not just due to this latest whistle blow news, but have given to PDSA, Animals In Distress and always Cancer UK.
The Sally Army saying £19 would give an elderly person a hug, I didnt know hugs were so expensive these days ???
No charity needed if we were all communists, or is that asking too much?
Will they refuse £5 then or £10. I think not!

Just give what you want, if you want, but don't use the text route as that will automatically be £16.
