Whirlpool range cooker

Range ACM 291, dark green about 10yrs old.
There is a 2 inch wide grid at the back of my range cooker, touching the wall. This is dirty and a few pieces of cutlery have fallen down through the slots. Can i remove this grid for cleaning ? I don't want to force it.
There is a joining/decor strip running from back to
front between the hob and hot plate across the grid, is this push fit? Is
it safe to force this off to release the grid? I have the manual which does
not mention this problem.
Whirlpool's answer (in odd English) was that I book a service call. Any Whirlpool engineers out there?

Why don't you just pull the cooker out and clean behind?

I'm not familiar with your model but both my range cookers have had hard fixed vents at the back and the only way to clean them is by pulling out the cooker.

Lol, if only it was that easy, it weighs a ton. Thanks, I think you're probqably right.
Tell me about it, they do weigh a lot but with mine I've not found any other way. :-(
