lily beetles are a bugger to get rid of.. the only thing I can suggest is bringing the tubs indoors they will find and destroy them if they stay outside very few pesticides kill them picking them off helps

Cheers Rowan,I have suggested he burns the plants, but how to get rid of the blighters hiding in the soil is a bigger problem.I am moving my pots to another position well away from his pots.
I'm afraid lily beetles can scent a lily from a long way off, dennis, just moving them may not keep yours clean. You need to pick them off and kill them as soon as you spot them. The ones on the plants now are this year's hatchings http://www.gardenforu...watch/lily-beetle.htm
It`s the larve of the beetle that does the damage more so than it`s parent,so squish them with your fingers to prevent next years damage.
