Does anyone use this delivery service please? I've looked on the website but it's not very clear how it works (or perhaps it's me).

Does the recipient of the parcel have to go to their local shop to pick it up? As the sender, do I have to locate their nearest Collect Plus shop and get it sent there?

Thanks for any replies.

Thanks RR.
I am working on the assumption you are sensing me a parcel.

You print off a label with my full name & address on it.

If we have agreed you will send it to my home address there is a small extra fee (50p in the case of a jiffy bag parcel - so £3.99).

Otherwise it is delivered to a local BP garage (open 7 days a week to 22:00) so easier to pick up than from Post Office. I have 10 days to pick it up. Cost £3.49

[ 2 quetions about their service - a) what if I'm not in when they try to deliver and b) what happens if I dont pick it up!]

This is what I have deduced from what I read on their site - i havent used it -

Thanks Puternut. I wonder if the garage would let you know it has arrived there - or are you expected to just keep calling in to check?
Windy, this link might be of some use

Puternit "what if I'm not in when they try to deliver". They are NOT delivering to your house they are delivering to a BP Garage.

That link was very helpful, thanks very much.
I use collect plus but book them through parcel2go . If you do that you drop the parcel at the nearest collect plus shop /garage (having already paid on line) and it will be delivered to the persons address you are sending to. They will also obtain a signature to prove delivery. It is very reasonably priced but delivery does take 3 to 5 days.
Fadeout:

Check out their Home page

Type in your own postcode in the send box

See the options - mine is deliver to door OOOOORRRRR deliver to local shop / garage

Thanks all. Sounds like a good idea in theory but I wonder if it works well in practice.
