Turning a shirt collar

I have a walking shirt which has a badly frayed collar. It would be good to turn it round as it's a good windproof shirt.
Not worried about a super neat job. Can anyone give me a fairly painless way of doing the job? No machine.

unpick the collar by opening up the seam with a rip-unpik tool. Turn the collar round and stitch up the seam again. All quite do-able without a sewing machine.
Enter 'turning a shirt collar' into Google. You'll find plenty of advice there.

Many thanks Grasscarp and Nibble. That gives me the confidence to have a go. May give Madame a surprise by asking for her sewing box. Poor lass has arthritic fingers so its self help.

Thanks bookbinder. I agree but its good to asked fellow ABers.
If the tips of the collar have a plastic stiffener in them, these may bend slightly the wrong way afterwards (just so you know. Youmight be able to bend them).
Also, it's simpler to unpick the whole neckband that the collar sits on, than the actual collar itself.
I'm sure you'll work it out.
Yes, I meant the seam of the shirt which holds in the collar. No need to unpick the collar itself seadogg.
