Hiya, Way back in October I took Norethisterone 5mg for just over a fortnight to hold back my 'monthly's' while I had a Spa break away. I was warned off it by a matey who'd taken it a few years ago because she has had a terrible time every month since taking it.
The following month after stopping the tablets was a usual month, 30 days after the initial bleed after stopping, lasted 4 days, nothing out of the ordinary....Then I came on just over 2 weeks later, just lightly, then 3 weeks after that + I have just started again 3 days ago but really really heavy, so much so I'm worried to leaver the house in case I 'leak' (tmi, sorry)....Just had my 3rd shower of the day + feel drained!
Just wondering if anybody has any experience of this happening after taking these tablets, is this the mother of all periods my Matey warned my about?!!!

I googled Norethisterone side-effects and found various sites. General opinion seems to be that the tablets cause extra lining to form which accounts for your symptoms-its natures way of getting back to normal. Suggest you go back to your GP for advice or phone NHS direct. 08454647
