I have been recommended the henry hoover by my carpet fitter as my dyson is knacked after 5 years+ of use. I here dyson's can damage a carpet and pull the carpet fibre's out. Any one got one? I see they have a bag though? Not used to that?

Hoover is a brand name and they dont make Henry.

I assume you mean a Henry vacuum cleaner.
dyson's dont have a bag
Get a Meile, streets better than the Dyson.
Hoover is now in the dictionary as a vacuum cleaner. It is now no longer a noun but a verb as well, as in to hoover the carpet.
Henrys are very popular with commercial cleaners.Theres a wide range with different names now.Henry , Hetty ,Hhttp://www.numatic.co.uk/products3.aspx?r=4
&sr=1arry
and James.
I have a Henry type hoover Mrs What ....... don't laugh ;o) ............. you don't need the bag. Just let it fill up, then tip it out :o)

My pleasure.

I've gone for the one with 2.5m extra power cable, looking forward to using it on the new carpets
Those whom say Dyson's pull the fibre's out must get small sharp grains of sand on their shoes and these grains cut through fibre's as people walk to and from, and when you look in the transparent dirt reservoir, there they are. So be sure visitors don't wear their shoes when entering your new carpeted home.
I agree with boxtops, my Meile is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned. Yes, they are a little mor expensive but, you get what you pay for. I've had a Dyson once, never again.
Meile by far. We have one and bought one for our son too. WEw use a Henry when cleaning an office. It works...ok but bags dont last long and it it always falling over. The floor head is crap too. I wish we had a Miele there!
Henry vacuums are fantastic - buy one!
I love my Hetty................
I love my Henry. He's been going for years, despite being dropped down the stairs a few times. One tip I would give is if you have a Wilkinsons anywhere near you, buy the hoover bags from them, they are so much cheaper than other places and just as good.

We have a Miele for the office and I can't stand the bloody thing. I usually resort to nicking one of the Henry's out of the vans when I need to hoover the office.
