Half fill it with warm soapy water & add a couple of tablespoons of rice  (not cooked!!!)  Keep swishing it round, leave it to soak & repeat until clean.

Buy some campden tablets from your local wine-making shop they are excellent just disolve 2/3 in hot water then rinse out.

John lewis (and i think lakeland) sell little metal balls to swirl around inside which work really well. Called 'magic balls'. Work the same as goofy's gunshot.
