brick garage refurb

i have a 60 year old brick built garage and have recently noticed a crack which runs through the pointing so that i can see daylight through it. can i have it repaired or does it need demolishing? :(

60 years ago, garages were a bit of an afterthought, Wookers. The foundations were often very shallow. It's hard to know if it's still moving. It may well have settled.
You could try this first....... then just monitor it for any further movement......

Easy to do. Rake out some horizontal joints...... bed in the Steel bar, and point up again.
That's a hell of a price for the kit. You could Google for just the bonding mix and a few helical bars ............. that's all you need :o)

and either material from above website, or the material, plus some SS reinf. bar from a local steel place or scrapyard!

and some
in sixty years the ground has moved a bit. think about cleaning out the damaged joints, refilling ( from both sides ) with 3 to one sand and cemnt mix. if you fill the joints it may last many more years.
