Stiff Zip

I am having trouble with a handbag zip, because it has been stored a while and not used the zip along the top has a kink in it now and is sticking when I try to do it up, what can I use on it to make it run smoothly again without spoiling the leather or my clothing please?

Spray polish

Either run a candle along the zip or apply in thin smear of vaseline to get the zip working again
WD40 is good for zips but may stain the leather

I find a lead pencil run along the zip usually works.

A little vaseline will do it.
