I saved some cut copper nails from a church i worked on and want to cast a cross from them for the vicar, think i'm ok with the melting process, can i use clay for the mould. thanks in advance for any help

And a pretty high temp to try and achieve at home in the first place!
I guess you'll be using acetylene, Pasty. You could experiment with a sand mould ............ the kind of thing used for cast iron.

I will be using acetylene, you guessed right,how do i make a sand mould? I'm a plasterer not a blacksmith...
