Hello all. This week its hubby's turn to wash the football kit....well my turn :-). The socks smell horrendous even after washing them. Any tips on getting them to smell lovely again...they're blue and so far the only tips I've found on the web are for white ones. Thanks in advance.

Lots of fabric conditioner and hang them out to dry!

Thanks both. Wouldn't a hot wash shrink them a little?
Depends what they're made of, but i think 60 should be safe. BUt as you've already washed them once, a second wash with strong smelling conditioner should do it even at 40 degrees.
If they're wool, a 60C wash would shrink them A LOT!!
dont make them smell too good, the opposing team will take the p1ss
Soak them in water and dettol before washing...
If they're wool then the washing machine hasn't been invented yet and this internet malarky is all just a fantastic dream.
burn them!!!

Spray them with Vanish or Ace or something like that, leave them for a few hours to soak in and then wahs them on a 60d wash.
put some Zoflora concentrate disinfectant in with the wash and then a nice conditioner in the rinse.Use a 40 degree wash to be safe.If washing for the whole team use a full bottle of Zoflora.
