My mum has a large garden which is frankly getting to be too much work, her neighbour has suggested the possibility of either buying or renting a piece of her garden and moving the fence etc to make their tiny garden bigger. My Mum really likes this idea but we don't know how we should go about finding a reasonable price etc. Has anyone done this or know how we should start the process?

can't answer you on price but a mate of mine bought a piece of her NDN's garden and did it through a conveyancer like any other real estate purchase. The new boundaries will need to be registered at the land registry
Maybe a local estate agent or surveyor could help.
