I'm not a gardener, but I never seem to be able to buy garlic that has the same intense flavour of that I buy abroad, so I'm thinking of growing some. Does anyone grow their own garlic? Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks.

hi naomi- will be trying garlic growing myself for the first time this year-grow other stuff-a few mates have grown garlic tho
split garlic bulb into cloves, in novemberish plant cloves 6 inch apart and about 2 inch deep-just need watering during any dry times
any flowers that develop- prick these off
dig up in late summer when the leaves have yellowed, let them dry off in the sun then cover them until the bulbs have dried-then using the leaves as a plait ,hang them up to air in cool dry place in a shed/outhouse
