We had CW Insulation installed a few months ago and the loft insulation updated. Although we open windows every day we find mould behind pictures, on some furniture etc. Does this usually happen?

Thanks Zacsmaster - you confirm what I think - it's obviously ventilation problems. Trouble is I cannot see any airbricks. It is a dormer type house - two outside wall come down to ground floor window level, and two are above 1 st floor window level (if that makes sense. I have also put in two dormer bedrooms upstairs. The house was always very draughty and cold despite d/glazing. This year as well as the insulation I have also changed the front door. Now the house is nice and warm - but we have this mould problem. we open the windows for several hours each day but it may need constant ventilation. Any ideas? I could put in vents but would that not defeat the idea of the insulation?
Hi sandmaster-this is a question I posted a little while back. Our mould was quite extreme but we had one of the ventilation system fitted and now we have no condensation or mould. It is an expensive thing to have fitted but we were just fed up of having to keep washing the ceilings down all winter and repainting.

When we had the system fitted the guy said that more and more houses are having them installed because everyone has insulated their houses too much.

Many thanks mum - I'll certainly look into this. How has it performed during this very cold spell?
It has been brilliant. No black on ceilings, not even condensation on windows in the morning. It's not noisy at all, but we can feel 'fresh air' as we go up the stairs. All it looks like is a flat white square on the landing ceiling-it's very unobtrusive. Also the faint damp musty smell which occurred in the bedrooms has disappeared too. I was very sceptical about it but the company offered us a full refund if it didn't work within 6 months. I can't reccommend it enough. I'm just so thrilled that the mould isn't returning!
