I have planning permission from my local council to have the kerb infront of our terraced house dropped but wondered if anyone knows roughly how much it costs, as the council no longer undertake the work?

I am in the same position. got permission but need a quote.
don't quite know who to go to. I am looking around to see if I can find a gang of men doing one somewhere so I can get a phone number from them. If I find out, I will let you know.

Always get at least 4 quotes for this kind of job, as the difference between companies can be hundreds and hundreds of pounds.
Depending on the work involved and the length of the kerb to be dropped, etc., the cost is typically around 200-400. Sadly, I can't recommend anyone to you as out local council still does the work.
I was given a quote from our council for approx 1,000, didn'y have it done will be looking around
