subsidence

My house is subsiding, it is a council property, would i have to move out for the work to be done, or would they still let me stay, they havnt been to inspect it yet but just wondered before they came.thanks

Gilly, it rather depends if the problem is showing up inside the house. If it's only apparent from outside, and is caught early, it's quite possible to underpin without disruption inside.
The problem today is more likely to be with Health & Safety, and insurance. Be prepared for them to be over-cautious, and move you out though, just in case.

hi thanks, it is inside and outside, cracks are about 3mm wide around my window,
Sounds like the usual, Gilly ........... one corner of the house. If it's confined to one room ............ fingers crossed.
