I love this plant as it gives off a lovely aroma, however I cannot find anywhere where I can buy it from and when I’ve found the shrub amongst hedges etc I’ve taken cuttings but they just keep dying on me.
Can anybody help me in either finding a place I can buy one from or the best way to successfully take a cutting?
Thank you if u can help me.

you need to look for Ribes sanguineum which can be found in most garden centres.
My next door neighbour has one planted right outside my front door and at certain time or year it stinks like cats pee, but the flowers do look very pretty. Cuttings normally take quite well I find. Try taking an piece of new growth about 6-8 inches long with a small `foot` from the main stem attached and plant several in a 5" pot, cover with a sandwich bag and put an elastic band around the pot to keep the air in,and they should be kept in a shady place on your north facing sill for about a month. Then check for root growth if they are still alive by looking under the pot base.
mmm I don't quite get the lovely smell...have never forgotten when I worked in the NHS I used to visit elderly people at home. I walked into one lady's house and the smell of urine was overpowering. Part of my assessment where necessary was around continence so I was just working tactfully around to the question when she said "Sorry about the smell, I've just cut a load of ribes for the church and I'm keeping it here till the smell fades"....her kitchen sink was full of it...I was so gald I had taken my time as you can imagine.
