i have raked the moss out of my lawn,and it seems to have left a lot of potholes in the lawn,any suggestions on how to get the grass growing again,ive tried putting grass seed in but to no avail.

Firstly get some aeration into the lawn by spiking it with your garden fork about 4" deep and add some sand into the holes. Also gently lift the grass with said fork so that the soil surface is loosened. Then spread approx 2ozs of seed and lightly sift some good soil over them to just cover and hide it from the birds, although most seed is treated against bird theft nowadays.
Failing that info, spread some proper Lawn Sand over it all. It does what it says on the box.
