cordylines

I have 2 cordylines about 8ft tall over the last 2-3 weeks all of the leaves have dropped off, I suspect frost damage. IAre the plants now dead or is there something that I can do to help them re-shoot.

I have the same problem not just with cordylines, but I have just left them , not touched them at all - as on the radio a few weeks ago when we had the frost, someone gave advice saying to just leave them, not to chop off anything - I do have a daily look but as yet only one of the 4 plants affected is showing signs of new growth.
