Hydrangea types;where to buy

In my last home I had a beautiful hydrangea in the garden. It was pink/red with large(diameter circa 21cm) flower heads. I understood it to be a mophead hydrangea as opposed to an ordinary or lace-cap. Unfortunately the people who moved in after me dug it up and paved over the area(no accounting for taste!). Anyway, I would really like to obtain another similar one, not necessarily the same colour but with large flower heads, to put in my current garden. I have looked for 'mopheads' or 'Hortensia' but they all seem to be what I would regard as 'normal' size/type. Can anyone advise where I can obtain what I seek or what it is called?
