what are these light brown mushrooms that have suddenly appeared in my front garden some of them are going black and there is 10 times more than that appeared last year

Can't tell without seing it - but if it is a fungus and you want rid of it a good drenching with a solution of Armillatox will get rd of it for you - I had Lichen in my lawn last year - it started off brown but turns black - Armillatox killed it off without harming the grass.
