SP you seem to have forgotten the thread on "Yoga" that you have been proved wrong on. What's this double or quits? You really should stop reading the Mail.

Sorry fella...will go back to that now. I hadn't subscribed to it, so I didn't realise there had been updates.

Whilst I'm over on that thread, do you want to take a punt at this one?

///Meanwhile the shopkeeper working at the time, known only as Tom, described the crime as ‘sickening’ and said the women appeared to be Eastern European.///

Where does it say Tom is a Daily Mail reader, I seem to have missed that little gem?

Also as he was dealing with them face to face he would surely have a much better idea than someon who had simply looked at a picture like yourself.

You need to read my post again.

I was referring to the top rated answer, which is from a Daily Mail reader, not what the shop owner said.

This is the top rated answer:

Of course they are from Eastern Europe knew that just by looking at their scraped back hair and faces...but we have no choice thanks to Blair and Cameron to let them in to steal our goods... Try watching the TV program Oxford Street, they are everywhere.... Like fleas.....

Is 'appeared to be' somehow fact in a DM readers mind then?

Unlike any British woman, right?

sp, you have overtaken AOG with the agenda threads.

In the original Daily Record report from which the Mail got the story, "Tom" said they SOUNDED east European.
I think we can sum this up confidently. Sp asked the question, 'how can they tell...'. The answer is as DB stated that readers relied on the judgment of Tom, the shopkeeper.

This presents the valid additional question, 'how confident could Tom be regarding the females' nationality. In reality, he didn't know for certain which means DM readers cannot possibly be certain either. It is the latter point which sp is inviting AB'ers to answer.

/// sp, you have overtaken AOG with the agenda threads. ///

Why drag me into this, don't all ABs have a particular agenda to voice? It is just some are more willing to enter questions, than sit on the sidelines criticising others.

sp1814

You take the view of one Daily Mail reader and class that one to represent all others.

Are you not being a tad generalistic here?

Almost like saying that all Muslims are terrorists.

Some of you should stand back, what was a report about an unpleasant crime has turned into DM witchhunt . Too many people generalising as per usual , l never tend to generalise but look at the state of Belgium with its' liberal attitudes ! ( Joke people , calm down )
