I have acquired about 40 of the above, today I have re-potted them and going to sell them on, but I will be keeping a few for my own garden.

They are between 7 and 10 inches high at the moment.

I would use a granulated, slow release fertilizer, sprinkled on the surface of of the potted ones (as directed, depending on brand) and as for the ones you wish to grow in your garden, give them some of the same at planting time, after that they should take pretty good care of themselves. A true living fossil, Best of luck with them!. I have a related Wollemi pine...

A true living fossil, Best of luck with them!. I have a related Wollemi pine in my garden, which takes pride of place!
I thought they were supposed to be unlucky so I wouldn't grow them at all! Ratter - I know you don't believe in all that 'rubbish', not sure I do myself, but will they sell?

Correct Millie, I don't believe in it, they will dell over time I'm sure, the longer they take go sell the bigger the get and the more I can ask. I'm only asking £5.00 each at the moment.

Thanks chipchopper, I will get some tomorrow.
Thanks Ratter.
It may have been unlucky for any monkey that would puzzle on how to climb it, what with all them spines an all. :-)

Well I advertised them on FB and they seem to selling OK, sold 3 tonight within a couple of hours of advertising them.
Good price, Ratter.
I'm sure you will have many more orders coming in.

Interesting, when you think, those spines were protection from grazing dinosaurs!

Chipchopper. "Interesting, when you think, those spines were protection from grazing dinosaurs!"

I think the spines will keep my 3 dinosaurs off them as well. The hounds do often sound like them when they are playing in the garden
Sounds like you've got all the ingredients for a Jurassic theme park, there:-)
I love chipchopper's description of "a true living fossil" :-) I had the privilege to be introduced to an ancient monkey puzzle tree as a child and to grow up beside it. It was like no other tree ever. The name and the presence of it,towering over the rest of the garden..just magnificent!
