Currently 'on hold' trying to talk to Scottish Power ... call placed at 19:50 so we're at 40 minutes and counting (at least it's an 0800 number so they're paying).

I did try the 'book a call back service' ... it offered my 10am ... which would be OK if it was tomorrow ... but it would actually be ... next Monday.

Basically they've got £250 of my money & don't seem to be in any hurry to give it back.

I swapped suppliers nearly a month ago - the final bill was generated with a big credit amount due - but no sign of it at all yet.

I'm not saving much (if any) money by moving - but this abysmal 'customer service' has just got too much to bear - they really are appalling.

Oh yes - Ofgem - with their proud motto :

"Proud to be as Effective as a Chocolate Fireguard"

Try the PM's office then. I am serious.
If a company owes me money then I don't have a polite chat to them. I write to their registered office by recorded delivery and give them a reasonable timescale of 14 days to 'cough up'.

You can try Ofgen as well, but that would be by letter as well.

55 minutes and counting - they go home at 10pm ...
try their parent company, Iberdrola. Their Pres is one Jose Ignacio Sanchez Galan, e-mail one of two: [email protected], [email protected] and copy to the Times, Daily Tel, or FT, and of course Scottish Power.

Aha - impenetrable Scots Person answers at 59 minutes - like trying to understand Sean Connery, with a head cold, talking through a duvet.

Agreed that I am owed the money - 'just can't see why it hasn't been refunded' - has instituted a 'manual refund' (sounds like a waiter from Fawlty Towers).

So - I now wait for another 'up to 5 working days' - what effin planet are these companies on - with "faster payments" I can move money instantly between banks.

Ho Hum

Yes - I think a letter to my MP or the PM is called for ...
If they make you wait long enough, you might get it in Scottish script. They've got to finance there Scottish independence somehow ☺☺☺
