I have decided after having Mia Farrow cuts for years and also hairdressers cutting part of my side of skin and losing blood off I am going to grow and grow and grow my own hair. My friends through cancer have lost their hair through no fault of their own so I am going to try to grow my own. I know "older" people don;'t suit long hair but I am going to give it a go. Never thought I would feel this way. But good luck to me says I.!!!!!

happy growing conn :)
Give it a go - I'm doing the same at the moment, a sort of long pageboy style, just to see how it looks. I can trim the fringe myself!
I've said that when i'm older i'm gonna rock the long silver locks... looks so cool :)

I've got a thing about my hair though. My mum got it all chopped off when I was wee and i've never forgiven her!!
the good news is you don't have to do anything, just sit there and feel it getting longer. Start bulk-buying shampoo, though.

Just my poor ole friend has lost her hair for 3rd time and she adored her hair so I am doing in her memory - hey - she is still here!!!! People will say Oh you are too old for long hair (am crying now) - but need to get over this for this wonderful friend.

Before she took ill i hated her long hair now I say if and when she grows it back I don't care if she grows it down to her a r s e. Whatever she wants.
your reasons actually sound quite complicated, but it's your hair, do as you please with it. No such thing as being too old for long hair.
Being too old for long hair is a myth!! Just like you have to go lighter as well. One of the babies at work, her grandma has a bright pink streak in her hair! She's amazing!!
I think long hair on older people usually makes them look older.
Connemmara.....A very wise Irish woman once said...."If it's legal and you're able then you're not too old." x
Ummmm, what do you class as "older?"
is that anyone on AB perchance, gness?
My age... :-)

About 40. Not that people should have short hair, just not long long.
What about Jerry Hall Ummmm? ;)
lol @ Ummm. A very diplomatic answer

I agree with you UMMMMM -old hair on an old face is not good but I am trying to do this for my friend with cancer - just to see if I can do it - that's all - no vanity at all.
Jerry Hall is the same age as my Mum (I think) I think her hair, although it looks okay, makes her look older.
Con, no offence but what are you trying to achieve?
Oh no... I'll always have my long flowing locks :)
Question Author
Just to see if I can grow my hair after such a long time - for her - if I can do it - she can do it - bless her. that's all UUMMMMM
