My new plants

Right guys I just bought these what tips can u give me to ensure they live. They r both in pots, can i put them in the garden? Please help these poor defenceless plants have a chance at life TIA

Yes tilly, I would put them both in the garden. The fuschia would prefer a bit of shade, but the dahlia can go anywhere, mine are in the full sun and doing well - good luck rosy

waht kind of fuchsia, hardy or tender. Hardy will go in the garden and com back year to year, tender needs frost protection.

If you are lucky and the winter isn't too bad, the dahlias might come through, but need to be planted quite deep.

I have sent my snails/slugs off on holiday now the warm weather has arrived (at last). Must admit I overfed them previously and they did not want to go !!!

Get a plastic cup, fill with straw, and stick it upside down on a cane near to your dahlia to trap earwigs at night, then burn it in the morning to cremate the little beggers, otherwise they will feast on it.

Lavender plants like lots of sun, and sandy well drained soil. Soil pH should be balanced and in the range of 6.5 to 7.5. Lavender plants in a garden should be panted so that they receive lots of sun light, and plenty of air circulation. Humidity and excess moisture is extremely bad for lavender and will result in rot and death of the plant. It is generally not necessary to fertilize lavender plants. A bit of compost used as a mulch around the base of the plant is usually enough to produce healthy growth. Plants should be watered only when the soil is dry. Plants should be pruned each fall by about 1/3. This will result in healthier, fuller plants and more blooms.

Sorry, I`ve given some advise on lavender instead of Fuchias

I for one am grateful for the lavender advice anyway, I never know when to prune them or by how much, also good to know I have them in EXACTLY the right place - thank you carlton - rosy :o)
