Miracle-Gro Patch Magic

Has anyone used this and what did you think? It`s grass seed, feed and coir. I put it down about 5 days ago and followed the instructions (I think). I`ve made sure I`ve watered it and it has had a nice mix of sun and watering. Nothing`s happened though. Flippin cats have been digging in it as well so I`ve raked over those bits. There`s not even the slightest sign of germination. How long does grass seed take to sprout? It claims the grass will grow "guaranteed".

Thanks. I`ll keep my fingers crossed for a bit longer then. I can see the seeds. There are plenty there. Am I supposed to be able to see them or should they be buried in the coir?
I used it the other year on a few bare patches, seems to work well when it eventually comes up, can't remember quite how long it took apart from it was longer than predicted. The only problem I had was that the patches tended to grow better than the rest of the lawn and are a different colour, apart from that I thought it was very good and will use again if required.

I`ve used it on quite a large bare patch. There is a shrub there (overhanging the edge of the lawn) and when I cut it back, the lawn was just bare soil.
Am I supposed to be able to see them or should they be buried in the coir?
If I remember correctly I could see them in the mix when spread on the lawn, so I think that if fine.

Thank you. If it works I`ll go over the rest of the lawn when I`ve raked the moss out. I`ll give it a bit longer and hope for some results.
Watch the birds !

I think the cats keep the birds away. Now I need something to keep the cats away. There`s a grey siamese type cat that loves that bush. I`ve just seen the evidence.
I used a different brand (can't recall which now) and it seems to be a common thing; that it doesn't get going as fast as expected. I too can see the seeds and wonder if they intend to sprout. It's not like they had no watering in with all the rain we had before these last few days of sunshine.
One word for this stuff - rubbish!! Expensive too.
Question Author
Did it not work for you then? Why - did it not germinate?
In all fairness our lawn is a nightmare to get any grass to grow (grows fine through the patio!) We bought 3 lots of 'Patch Magic' and although we did everything it said in the tub, it only came through very sparce. We did think that grass seed alone would've been better, and cheaper.
