Can you grow rhubarb in a container? I dont have a spare sunny spot in my garden and have nowhere to put it except on the patio in a tub.

Don't see why not - you can grow almost everything else in containers. I'd make sure there is plenty of well rotted compost in the container as I find they are very hungry.
Rhubarb grows quite happy in the shade but i am sure it will grow in a pot
i have mine at the back of the shed going to cut and use some today
The man on the next allotment to ours grows his in a large box, and there is nothing at all wrong with it.
if it's big enough and you start with an enriched soil based compost
Hi Tilly, I have successfully grown rhubarb in a patio tub now for a couple of years. It's positioned at the side of the garden shed, which I think is quite a shady spot.

Thanks for all the answers. I have now planted it in a big pot and put it on the patio. The instructions say that I can't harvest it this year, so it's going to ba a long wait for a homemade rhubarb crumble. I might have to cheat and go and buy some at extortionate prices
