My best mate's wedding is now only 2 days away. I am Best Woman and making a speech. My daughter is bridesmaid. Lil is that excited she's had to bulk-buy the Tena pads. At last, the date of September 11th will have happy connotations rather than just the obvious. I would post my speech on here for CBers approval & criticism - but it's tooooo long. Suffice to say, the bride will blush!!

Give us a hint?
never heard of best Woman, best man, yes,But anyway, I'm sure you will be, :-)
logic...me too, never heard of a "best woman"

salla...is it a "gay wedding?"
Question Author
There's a Best Man too (the bridegroom's 13 year old son) - so they're relying on me to entertain the masses with funny stories & innuendo. I'm good at that :-)
Lil & are have been best friend's our entire lives - 47 years. So there's loads of material to work with.... Certain facts I shall keep quiet about, for the sake of decency & The Elderlies... but it's almost-anything-goes, so I'm really looking forward to it.
Question Author
It's only a Gay Wedding in that it will be exceedingly jolly.
salla....tell me the time of your speech, approximately and I will borrow the Lancaster from R.A.F Coningsby and fly over as a mark of respect and you can say "they were his finest years"

Retired hospital porters have been known to fly Lancasters.......;-)
WELL SQAD, somebody had to fly em, :-)

AH so you're a DIY man then DOC,:-)
You are 47, sallabananas? You look much younger than that to me!
-- answer removed --
yeah but they spelled it wrong DOC,:-)

Johnny xxxx (I'm young at heart and don't look or act my age :-)
Sqad - "a mark of respect""Finest years"? It's a wedding, not a funeral !!
Doc - no need to remind them about having sex together - the randy so & so's are 'at it' all the time. Sickening.

Having a Lancaster Flypast would be brilliant though.
salla

If I had to choose between attending a wedding or a funeral, I would choose a funeral.
Marriage seems so final.

Logic...I have answered it haven't I?
Question Author
Well sqadlet - both of my marriages were final - finalised in the divorce courts. (Well, one was and one will be...)

This seems a weird thing to say, but if Lil's wedding is as good a 'do' as a recent funeral I went to (they even had kareoke cos Ken was Kareoke King) - it'll be a good one.

Boy, we know how to put on a good 'do' in the Fens.
i just saw the title and new it had to be you!

can you post parts of your speech then?
Sqad - if you are going to do a flypast, please confirm this wasn't you at the controls ..................no I don't mean the hero who landed it safely but the plonker who put his foot on the throttle (:o) ha ha ha
